Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ Years of Java Development Experience

Proven expertise in building APIs using Java and Spring Boot, with Java being the top priority for this role.

• Database & Event Streaming Proficiency

Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) and event streaming platforms like Kafka.

• Containerization & Orchestration Skills

Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing scalable microservices—this is a critical need.

• Cloud Infrastructure Experience

Solid experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, with a focus on building and operating cloud-native systems.

• Scalable System Design & AI Integration

Demonstrated ability to build high-availability, low-latency systems at scale, with a plus for experience using AI to solve operational/business problems and familiarity with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.

Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the product organization of one of their top clients in the medical technology space. In this technical leadership role, you will manage an engineering team, fostering a high-performing, engineering-first culture. The team is driving brand-new software development for innovative product lines, and you’ll be responsible for your teams’ delivery and outcomes—taking pride in the solutions they produce and their ability to meet delivery targets. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to design scalable, thoughtful software systems of considerable scope and complexity. You’ll guide enterprise-wide architectural decisions, promote and establish best practices, and coach engineers and engineering leaders to grow. As an experienced manager, you take ownership of issues, work to find solutions, and collaborate effectively across teams. You bring a proven track record of leading software development teams through multiple product and platform releases, and have made significant individual contributions as a Senior Engineer to real-world software projects. You’ll provide product design leadership, including ongoing design and implementation reviews, and ensure system objectives are aligned with broader project goals. You should be comfortable presenting ideas to senior leadership, challenging the status quo, assisting with project estimation and planning, and contributing hands-on by designing systems and writing clean, functional code when needed. This role is ideal for a technical product engineering manager who has grown from software engineer into leadership and thrives in delivering and supporting new products in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
