The Career Opportunity:

As a Software Engineer on the Payments and Shared Services team, you’ll help build our unified payments service that powers transactions across multiple product lines. This role offers the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack (AWS, .NET, Kubernetes, React), developing scalable microservices and seamless integrations with various payment providers. You will play a key part in delivering a reliable, PCI-compliant platform that ensures smooth payment experiences for healthcare providers and their patients across our brands.

Areas of Accountability:

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all payment features are built with security in mind and meet PCI compliance standards (e.g., proper encryption and data handling)
  • Work closely with front-end developers (React) to support seamless end-to-end user payment experiences, ensuring efficient integration between the UI and backend services
  • Participate in design and code reviews, offering ideas for improvements in microservice architecture, API design, and event-driven integration patterns
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues within the payments platform, maintaining high availability and reliability of payment processing for all brands
  • Write unit tests and integration tests for payment components to uphold a high standard of code quality and prevent regressions

Competencies for Success

  • 3+ years of software development experience, with solid programming skills in .NET/C#
  • Familiarity with front-end development (especially React) and understanding of how front-end applications interact with backend APIs
  • Experience or strong interest in integrating with payment systems or external APIs, and a good understanding of transactional workflows
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for building and deploying services
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API development; exposure to event-driven architecture concepts (using queues, pub/sub, etc.)
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and willingness to work within compliance frameworks like PCI DSS to protect sensitive data
  • Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail, especially for ensuring accuracy and reliability in financial transactions
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to work in an agile environment and collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers
