Backend Software Engineer (Node.js & AWS)

Up to £70,000 | Fully Remote (UK Only)

We’re working with a fast-growing cyber security start-up that’s changing the way organisations tackle human risk, and they’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join their product team.

This is a great opportunity to work in a small, talented engineering group where you’ll have real ownership, direct impact, and the chance to build modern, scalable systems using AWS serverless tools and Node.js.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and maintaining backend services using Node.js and AWS Lambda
• Designing clean, secure APIs that the frontend team can rely on
• Working with data in Aurora (PostgreSQL) and DynamoDB
• Keeping systems healthy using CloudWatch and other AWS tools
• Contributing to architecture decisions and improving CI/CD workflows
• Pairing with teammates, sharing ideas, and pushing for best practices

What we’re looking for:

• At least 3 years of backend or full stack experience
• Solid Node.js skills, ideally with TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly Lambda and API Gateway
• Comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD, and secure development practices
• Good communicator who’s happy working in a remote, collaborative setup
