Hiring: UX Engineer II / UI/UX Designer Specialist II

Location: Albany, NY 12207

Duration: 34 months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Remote options available, based on manager approval and program needs

📌 Note: Candidates approved for 100% remote work must attend monthly in-person meetings in Albany and major milestone meetings as required.

We are seeking an experienced UX Engineer II to support complex application design and development initiatives within a large-scale public-sector technology program.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business goals and develop effective solutions.
• Conduct user research through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other methods.
• Plan and facilitate design-thinking workshops, journey mapping, and user-needs modeling.
• Create UX deliverables, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, sitemaps, user stories, and journey maps.
• Plan and conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback and UX metrics.
• Work closely with developers to bring designs to life and create coded prototypes.
• Design experiences for web, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Support application enhancements, defect resolution, and post-implementation incident resolution.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience working on complex projects, including 2+ years in a UX Engineer leadership role.
• 7+ years of experience in UI/UX engineering across the full design lifecycle.
• Experience creating wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, storyboards, and user surveys.
• 1–2 years of experience working with an Integrated Eligibility System program in a Health and Human Services environment.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
• 2–5 years of experience with user research, user modeling, and usability testing.
• 2–5 years of experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.
