Role Overview
We're looking for a Product Designer to help shape how enterprises and governments experience agentic AI. The problems we work on — how leaders make decisions with AI, how autonomous agents earn human trust, how intelligence becomes an interface — rarely come with ready-made solutions, so the best work here starts with asking the right questions.
You'll treat every brief as a starting point rather than a final instruction: dig into the underlying problem, research it, challenge assumptions, and reframe the task when needed — then deliver the answer with exceptional visual craft. You'll help define interaction patterns for AI-native products where the playbook doesn't exist yet, with a level of polish that sets the standard.
This role is a full-time position based in India (remote).
Key responsibilities
- Own problems end-to-end. Take challenges from ambiguous framing through research, exploration, flows, UI, and final polish across our product portfolio.
- Question before you design. Interrogate every brief — validate that we're solving the right problem, gather evidence, talk to users and stakeholders, and reframe the task when needed. We expect you to push back, not just deliver.
- Set the visual bar. Bring rigorous craft to every screen: typography, layout, color, spacing, iconography, and interaction detail. Your work should feel considered down to the pixel.
- Advocate for quality. Champion craft and user experience beyond your own work — hold a high bar in reviews and critiques, help define what "good" looks like for the team, and make the case for quality when timelines and trade-offs push against it.
- Prototype at AI speed. Use AI-native design and build tools — Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex, Figma Make, Base44, Lovable — to turn concepts into working, testable prototypes in hours, not weeks.
- Design for agentic AI. Shape emerging patterns for human–agent collaboration: conversational interfaces, orchestration of autonomous agents, human-in-the-loop review, and trust-building moments.
- Collaborate deeply. Partner with product managers, engineers, and applied researchers from problem definition through production, and contribute to our evolving design system.
- Communicate with rationale. Present and defend design decisions with clear reasoning and evidence — not personal preference.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual design skills and craft. This is the first thing we'll look at — we want to see taste, precision, and attention to detail, not just process diagrams.
- A thinker, not an executor. You ask, "what problem are we actually solving — and is it the right one?" before opening a design tool. You research, test assumptions, and reframe briefs rather than simply carrying them out.
- Hands-on fluency with modern AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex, Figma Make, Base44, and Lovable — and genuine curiosity to keep pace as the toolkit evolves.
- Expert command of Figma and contemporary end-to-end design workflows, from discovery to developer handoff.
- Strong product thinking: you connect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, and you can articulate the "why" behind every decision.
- Excellent communication and storytelling — you make complex ideas legible to executives, engineers, and users alike.
- Comfort with ambiguity and zero-to-one work in a fast-moving environment where requirements evolve as the technology does.
Nice to Have
- Experience shipping both B2C and B2B products.
- Skills in motion design, 3D, or illustration — a great addition, though not required.
- Experience designing AI/LLM-powered or agentic product interfaces.
- Familiarity with bilingual or RTL (e.g., Arabic–English) design.
The successful candidate will be engaged via an external workforce partner in line with Inception’s operating model in the region.
