We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager to join our team and help drive the success of our platform by creating compelling go-to-market strategies and ensuring our products resonate with customers.

As we scale, we are looking for a PLG Marketing Manager to join our team and focus on improving the product experience, increasing conversion rates, and reducing churn through in-product engagement and strategic messaging.

The PLG Marketing Manager will drive customer retention, conversion, and growth through in-product optimizations and messaging. This role will focus on identifying key opportunities to upsell and retain customers by analyzing user behavior within our platform, creating targeted in-product messaging, and improving overall customer experience.
Additionally, you’ll play a role in improving online conversion rates for our freemium product, whose long-tail SEO strategy attracts about 45,000 page views per day. You’ll ensure seamless transitions to paid users and maximize customer lifetime value.
Key responsibilities:
- Product experience optimization: Monitor user behavior within the platform to identify high-value upsell opportunities, such as users frequently searching for specific datasets. Develop in-product prompts and messaging to encourage users to upgrade their subscription or purchase additional datasets.
- Churn reduction: Work closely with the customer success and product teams to develop targeted messaging for users considering cancellation. Create automated in-product notifications or email campaigns that highlight the value of staying and offer tailored solutions or incentives.
- Retention strategies: Develop in-product strategies to encourage engagement, deepen product usage, and retain customers long-term. Create automated prompts for feature adoption, onboarding enhancements, and relevant use cases based on user behavior.
- Website conversion optimization: Collaborate with the marketing team to improve freemium website pages and optimize the customer journey. This includes refining landing pages, CTAs, and sign-up flows to increase conversion from leads to paid customers.
- A/B testing & performance tracking: Conduct regular A/B testing on in-product messaging and website content to optimize conversion rates, engagement, and retention. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve messaging and customer experience.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with product, marketing, and customer success teams to align on retention goals, product enhancements, and marketing campaigns that support both customer acquisition and retention.
- Knowledge of retention platforms: Utilize and integrate your chosen PLG platforms to manage churn, build retention campaigns, and upsell to our existing customers. Measure the success of efforts and leverage these tools to create a seamless and automated retention and upsell strategy.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a growth, product, or retention marketing role, preferably in a SaaS or tech company.
- Experience with PLG strategies, using data to identify opportunities for in-product upselling, cross-selling, and engagement.
- Strong knowledge of CRO best practices, with experience optimizing websites, landing pages, and funnels to drive conversions.
- Proficient in platforms like GainSight, Pendo, Candu, UserPilot, , or other integrated PLG, customer retention and churn management tools.
- Experience using analytics and product data platforms to track user behavior and optimize for conversion.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and personalized messaging that resonates with users.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, especially product, customer success, and marketing.
- A/B testing and data-driven decision-making skills to continuously improve campaign performance.
