Senior Backend Software Engineer

Immersive Homes is a technology-driven home builder advancing the homebuying experience by integrating a digital design and sales platform, modern modular construction, and the application of virtual reality with geospatial placement of new homes onto their actual location for full immersion. We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong capabilities to manage our backend codebases.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain and build out features for various Node.js backends.
• Run code reviews and ensure overarching quality of the backend codebase.
• Manage backend infrastructure and architecture on AWS.
• Help size, prioritize, and plan roadmaps for the backend codebase (with help from a project manager).

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, AWS Services, and Node.js.
• CI/CD setup and management skills (GitHub actions, AWS CDK)
• Stability as a core tenant with a focus on testing (Vitest or Jest), debugging, and developer experience
• Knowledge of serverless best practices
• Capability to write REST endpoints and differentiate between different backend terminology (GET, PATCH, POST)

Bonus:

• Knowledge in setting up and managing Localstack
• Insights on both SQL and NoSQL database architecture
• Experience in establishing a monorepo using PNPM (or Yarn), Nx (or Turborepo)
