Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Backend Software Engineer to join a dynamic team working on an exciting project that aims to enhance the search experience of our platform. You will be working closely with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists to improve search functionality, focusing on providing quick access to crucial content (e.g., images in sports sections). This role is ideal for someone who has worked in high-volume web environments, is passionate about backend services and eager to grow in the areas of machine learning and advanced search technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain .NET backend services to enhance search capabilities and improve performance.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to integrate machine learning models (including LLMs and chatbots) into the search experience.
• Implement vector search techniques and integrate Solr or other search technologies.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS (Azure experience is a plus).
• While front-end skills are not required, you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with front-end teams as needed.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in .NET backend services in high-volume web environments or high transactional systems.

• Proficiency in Docker and containerized environments.

• Experience with cloud: AWS preferred

• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including engineers, product managers, and data scientists.

• Ability to proactively take on tasks and contribute to the team's success.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with machine learning models such as LLMs, chatbots, vector search and/or Solr a plus.
• Experience with AWS preferred
• Front-end skills are not necessary but would be a positive addition to the team.

Interview Process:

1. Initial Screening: 30-minute interview with Senior Manager
2. Technical Interview: 1-hour technical interview with two engineers.
