Today, 67% of students and 82% of low-income students can’t read at grade level by the end of third grade. That’s when students are supposed to go from learning to read to reading to learn. It’s America’s number one education crisis and we know how to fix it.

Ignite Reading delivers one-to-one virtual tutoring that teaches every student the foundational skills they need to become a confident, fluent reader. We pair students who need extra support with expert reading tutors who provide daily, 15-minute, Science of Reading-based instruction that rapidly closes their decoding gaps. We focus on the foundational reading skills—phonics, phonemic awareness, and sight words—kids need to master so they can decode a sentence. Students in Ignite Reading’s program achieve over 2 weeks of reading skills growth per week of instruction, and notably all students achieve the same outstanding results including students with IEPs, multilingual learners, students of color and those receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Your Role

Ignite Reading is looking for a Senior Director of Growth Marketing to lead and scale our marketing engine through innovative, data-driven strategies. Reporting to the CRO, this role will own the strategy and execution of growth marketing programs across demand generation, content, events, and digital campaigns. You’ll manage a high-performing team and work cross-functionally to drive qualified leads, expand reach, and ultimately accelerate revenue.

This is a unique opportunity to lead growth marketing at a mission-driven EdTech company with strong product-market fit. You’ll bring creative and analytical expertise to help us scale efficiently and effectively, while championing experimentation and leveraging contemporary marketing tools.

Core Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Design and execute a comprehensive growth marketing strategy to drive qualified pipeline across all funnel stages
  • Own the planning, testing, and optimization of multi-channel campaigns using modern MarTech, AI tools, and full-funnel tactics (e.g., paid media, email, SEO, and social)

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, including demand generation, content marketing, event marketing, and design
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and results-oriented culture focused on learning, iteration, and performance

Event & Field Marketing

  • Oversee the execution of field marketing programs, including regional/national events, lunch & learns, and virtual webinars
  • Ensure all events and activations are aligned to revenue goals and deliver measurable ROI

Content Strategy & Conversion

  • Guide the production of compelling, conversion-focused content—case studies, email nurture flows, landing pages, and other sales enablement materials
  • Expand Ignite Reading’s library of assets to support each stage of the buyer journey

Analytics & Performance Optimization

  • Build the marketing analytics infrastructure needed to track performance, attribution, lead lifecycle, and ROI
  • Use data insights to inform decision-making, optimize spend, and improve program efficiency

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, SDRs, RevOps, and other go-to-market teams to align on ICP targeting, lead scoring, and feedback loops
  • Champion marketing’s role in driving pipeline, improving conversion, and accelerating deal velocity

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with a track record of building and leading growth marketing functions
  • Proven success scaling pipeline and revenue using innovative, data-driven marketing approaches
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across demand gen, content, events, and design
  • Expertise in full-funnel campaign development, marketing automation, paid media, SEO, and lifecycle marketing
  • Strong analytical mindset with deep understanding of performance reporting, attribution, and marketing ROI
  • Curious, creative, and hands-on—excited to test emerging tools, channels, and growth strategies
  • Comfortable in early-stage, high-growth environments with zero-based budgeting
  • Highly collaborative and communicative across distributed teams
  • EdTech experience a plus, but not required
