Principal Software Engineer/Senior Principal Software Engineer - Angular (IFS Technology)

Job Description

We are looking for experienced, highly motivated, and self-driven Principal Software Engineers / Senior Principal Software Engineers to design, build, and maintain a robust, scalable, and high-performance containerized Angular-based web client framework deployed via Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, RxJS, and HTML5, while integrating AI solutions like Large Language Models (LLMs) and intelligent agents. You will also be responsible for writing automated tests to ensure the stability and quality of our frontend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain a containerized, enterprise-grade Angular-based web client framework deployed through Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
• Design and govern reusable, efficient, and extensible UI component libraries using Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, and RxJS, driving consistency and developer productivity across multiple product teams.
• Define and enforce best practices for building optimized, modern, and accessible web interfaces leveraging HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Champion the integration of emerging technologies, including AI-powered systems and Large Language Models (LLMs), into frontend applications to deliver intelligent, user-centric experiences.
• Establish a robust testing strategy by driving the adoption of automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Playwright, ensuring long-term maintainability and release confidence.
• Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams (designers, backend engineers, QAs, and DevOps), fostering collaboration and aligning delivery with architectural and business goals.
• Lead and scale code review practices, setting and maintaining high engineering standards, ensuring consistency, performance, and long-term maintainability across distributed teams.
• Set and uphold coding excellence, ensuring that quality, security, and performance are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Drive system-wide performance initiatives, overseeing frontend optimization activities to ensure applications remain fast, responsive, and scalable under increasing workloads.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges across complex distributed systems, ensuring optimal system reliability and user experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve full-stack issues across containerized and cloud-native environments, guiding teams toward resilient and fault-tolerant solutions.
• Act as a proactive technology leader, influencing architectural decisions, mentoring senior engineers, and contributing to long-term technical strategy and innovation.

Qualifications

• A University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Minimum of 9+ years of working experience with a track record in working with Enterprise Grade Software.
• Extensive experience architecting and scaling frontend applications using modern frameworks such as Angular (primary) and React, with deep expertise in enterprise-grade web client development.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web technologies, with the ability to define and enforce best practices across multiple teams.
• Expert-level knowledge of RxJS and reactive programming paradigms, with proven ability to design scalable, event-driven architectures.
• Deep expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design, ensuring high-performing, accessible, and standards-compliant user experiences.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI-driven systems, with strong interest and working knowledge of LLMs and AI agents for enhancing user-facing applications. (Integrating)
• Proven track record in cloud-native development, including containerization (Docker), orchestration with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and deploying high-availability, resilient applications at scale.
• Leadership in defining and executing automated testing strategies, leveraging tools such as Jest, Cypress, and Playwright, to drive reliability and release confidence. (Highlight the development angle)
• In-depth expertise with Git and branching strategies, enabling efficient collaboration and large-scale codebase management.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance, scalability, and optimization challenges across distributed systems.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, ensuring rapid, reliable, and secure delivery cycles.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration, with excellent communication, mentorship, and influencing skills in agile and globally distributed environments.
