As a Salesforce Solution Engineer, your key contributions will be: delivering impactful pre-sales presentations and deal strategy coaching; expertly translating client needs into tailored Idealist Consulting Services; leading solution and services design and package development; and providing critical thought leadership and strategic influence across Sales and Services.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Pre-Sales Presentations & Deal Strategy Coaching
- Develop and deliver compelling, customized presentations and demonstrations of Idealist Consulting's proposed Salesforce solutions and as needed throughout the deal cycle
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Sales team, providing expert coaching on solution positioning, technical objection handling, and overall sales strategy related to proposed solutions
- Contribute to RFPs and assessments as needed
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to refine our sales approach, identify key differentiators, and develop effective messaging around our solution capabilities
- Provide technical guidance and support during the proposal development process, ensuring accurate scoping and realistic timelines
- Translating Client Needs into Idealist Consulting Services
- Lead sales discovery and scope estimate design sessions with prospective clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and technical landscapes
- Translate complex client requirements into high level estimates and statements of work that align with Idealist Consulting's service offerings and delivery methodologies
- Serve as the crucial bridge between client needs and our service delivery capabilities, ensuring alignment
- Solution, Services Design & Package Development
- Architect innovative and scalable Salesforce solutions that address client needs while leveraging the full potential of the platform and complementary technologies
- Collaborate with Service Delivery leadership to design and package our core service offerings, ensuring they are market-relevant, clearly defined, and effectively communicated
- Contribute to the development of standardized solution blueprints, accelerators, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and consistency in our service delivery
- Identify opportunities to create new service offerings or refine existing ones based on market trends and client demand
- Thought leadership and strategic influence
- Stay up to date on Salesforce for Nonprofits road maps and products
- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge resources and training materials to elevate the technical expertise of both the Sales and Services teams
- Participate in strategic planning sessions with Sales and Services leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on client engagements and market analysis
- Collaborate with Marketing on the creation of compelling content (e.g., case studies, white papers, webinars) that showcases our solution expertise
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Services, and leadership teams
What You Bring to the Table:
- Baseline Expectation:
- Excellent client-facing written and oral communications skills
- Minimum 5 years experience participating in pre-sales engagement as an SE or similar
- Experience building scope of work and high-level estimates for time and materials services
- Minimum 3 years Salesforce certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant with additional certification in Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, or Platform Development preferred
- Solid understanding of user centered design, UI/UX, and design thinking
- Experience using story mapping methodology to capture business requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience utilizing Agile and Waterfall project management methodology
- Desire to learn new things and take on challenges
- Subject Matter Expertise in Nonprofit Solutioning
- Experience working with cross functional teams
- Experience in a leadership, management, or mentorship capacity
- Extra Credit:
- 5 years+ in Salesforce consulting, or service delivery role
- Deep ties in the Salesforce for Nonprofits ecosystem

$95,000 - $125,000 a year
Base Salary $95,000 - $125,000 + commission earning
