Software Developer

A leading global media organisation is looking for a Full Stack Developer. You will join a cross-functional product and engineering team responsible for the tooling and platforms that deliver digital content to millions of subscribers worldwide.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing both frontend and backend systems using TypeScript and Scala to deliver new features.
• Collaborating in a cross-functional environment through pair programming and close work with editorial and commercial colleagues.
• Participating in product and technical decision-making to shape the future of digital content delivery.
• Contributing to open-source projects and maintaining code quality on platforms like GitHub.
• Iterating rapidly on platform tools to improve the user experience for internal editorial teams and global subscribers.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer with strong backend knowledge in Scala or an equivalent programming language.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with a willingness to learn TypeScript on the job if required.
• A passionate interest in web technologies and the evolution of digital journalism.
• Ability to make reasoned choices regarding technology stacks and architectural decisions.
• Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom.
