HoundDog.ai, founded by an MIT alumnus and seasoned entrepreneur with deep cybersecurity expertise and a successful exit, is developing a cutting-edge code scanner that detects sensitive data leaks in source code with unparalleled accuracy and speed. We combine traditional static analysis techniques with large language models to redefine data privacy and security.

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented mid-senior level software engineer to help build HoundDog.ai’s code scanner and SaaS platform. You will be instrumental in developing production-grade web services, command-line tools, and AI-powered automation.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CTO to translate designs into high-quality code.
• Develop and maintain our Django REST API (the role's primary focus), React frontend and the core code scanner.
• Integrate with third-party services, build data pipelines, and create automation workflows powered by large language models.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience using Django, React and Linux/macOS.
• Solid grasp of Python, its ecosystem, libraries and frameworks such as pip, virtualenv, asyncio, Pydantic, Django and FastAPI.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with close attention to detail.
• Exceptionally high productivity without sacrificing quality, effectively leveraging AI-powered tools for development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Rust programming language.
• Experience with static code analysis and SAST (e.g., Semgrep, Snyk).
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Terraform and CI/CD Pipelines.
• Machine learning experience.

Pay range

65000 - 70000 USD base + stock options
