About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in Building Management Systems (BMS) to lead and deliver complex projects from concept and design through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in BMS design, implementation, and commissioning, along with advanced knowledge of BMS platforms such as Niagara N4 or CPO Studio, as well as expertise in third-party system integrations.
_Role and Responsibilities

- The Junior Lead Project Engineer supports Project Managers and Supervisors in delivering the required technical design concepts, documentation, and performance on assigned projects, including the development and delivery of BMS software based on approved engineering documentation, as well as leading and executing commissioning activities.
- Design and develop technical concept BMS for building automation projects, implementation and documentation. Identification of customer needs and translating these into workable solutions
- Produce detailed design deliverables based on specifications and construction drawings, including schematics, component selection, system architecture, software control strategies, and third-party integration plans for HVAC systems. Take ownership of technical execution and overall project performance.
- Lead and execute commissioning activities to validate system functionality, performance, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate and supervise internal and external project engineering teams as required, and provide technical support throughout project execution and commissioning.
- Ensure all engineered solutions comply with applicable standards and meet the highest levels of performance, quality, and reliability. Deliver clear handovers to engineering and implementation teams.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers, providing technical expertise to define, review, and refine project requirements. Support project planning, scheduling, and quality assurance activities.
- Act as a team player by actively sharing knowledge and experience within the engineering team. Participate in customer meetings and provide expert input on automation solutions.
Your Profile
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in complex BMS project environments, including demonstrated ability to lead and take responsibility.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or equivalent through experience.
- Experience with building automation systems and third party integration (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, DALI, KNX, etc.)
- Proficiency in using CPO Studio or/and N4 for control logic development and configuration
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure and how remote systems interconnect. Demonstrates a pro-active approach, displaying a ‘can-do' attitude. Be organised, logical and achieve agreed delivery deadlines.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, ability to find solutions to complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Knowledge of Visio, Excell, Word, AutoCAD, EPLAN, or other design software is an asset.
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
