About the Role
The Communications Manager plays a vital role in driving B2B and B2C engagement through effective email and SMS campaigns. This position combines analytical thinking with creative execution to optimize messaging that drives results. The ideal candidate will use data-driven insights from the Data Analyst to continuously refine our communications strategy while maintaining a consistent brand voice across all email and SMS touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic email and SMS communication plans aligned with business objectives and customer journey mapping
- Analyze performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, etc.) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- A/B test various elements of communications (subject lines, content, send times, etc.) to determine optimal approaches
- Craft compelling, personalized content for email and SMS campaigns that resonates with target audiences
- Optimize variable content in communications to ensure high levels of personalization and relevance
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure visual elements enhance messaging effectiveness
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in digital communications to keep strategies current
- Work closely with the Data Analyst to implement data-informed improvements
- Develop communication calendars and maintain consistent cadence of all touchpoints
- Ensure all communications adhere to compliance regulations and brand guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in email marketing, digital communications, or content strategy
- Demonstrated success in improving email and SMS campaign performance metrics
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable content strategies
- Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Experience with email marketing platforms (SendGrid preferred)
- Understanding of marketing automation and customer segmentation
- Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CRM systems and customer data management
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template customization
- Understanding of compliance regulations related to digital communications (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR, etc.)
- Experience with personalization and dynamic content implementation
- Project management experience
