Our mission is to address mental and behavioral health challenges, such as anxiety and depression, while simultaneously fostering healthy and strong family relationships.

About the Position
We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer to help deliver a new partner program that enhances access and experience for our members. This initiative will touch multiple parts of our platform—from onboarding and eligibility verification to automated communications and external integrations.
You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable systems that connect internal platforms with partners and third-party EHR vendors through SFTP and GraphQL integrations.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll collaborate closely with our Head of Technology and fellow developers to deliver impactful, production-ready solutions that directly improve patient, provider, and partner experiences.
What You’ll Do:
Front-End (React.js & React Native)
- Update onboarding views for new enrollment fields.
- Ensure responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces.
Back-End (Eligibility & Integrations)
- Extend services for member eligibility checks.
- Implement SFTP imports/exports with retries, logging, and error handling.
- Integrate with EHR GraphQL APIs to manage member accounts.
- Sync data across internal and partner systems.
Communications & Tracking
- Use Twilio (SMS/email) for automated confirmations, reminders, and updates.
- Log and audit communications and key system events.
Engineering Standards
- Deliver high-quality, production-ready features with minimal rework.
- Build performant, scalable, and extensible code.
- Write maintainable, reusable components that support future growth.
- Identify and address edge cases, data/state risks, and performance issues early.
- Troubleshoot effectively using logs and data before escalation.
- Validate releases with regression and edge-case testing.
- Apply HIPAA and security best practices to protect PHI.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
Team & Operations
- Support partner integrations, automations, and event-driven workflows.
- Share responsibility for daily support tasks (bugs, production issues, ad-hoc requests).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure business alignment.
About You
- Strong back-end development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization).
- Skilled in building REST and GraphQL APIs with scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture.
- Experienced in performance optimization (batching, pagination, avoiding N+1 queries) and robust error handling, logging, and observability.
- Strong testing discipline, including integration, workflow, edge-case, and regression tests.
- Proficient with Git, CI/CD workflows, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, code assistants).
- Comfortable reading, debugging, and improving unfamiliar codebases.
- Knowledge of API security, authorization logic, and HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI.
- Clear, proactive communicator with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Effective collaborator across operations, care, design, and product teams.
- Reliable and self-directed in distributed, asynchronous environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- React / React Native development
- Agile / Scrum collaboration
- Third-party integrations via GraphQL or REST (auth flows, data mapping, error handling, pagination)
- CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Cloud & DevOps: Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker
- Event-driven systems: Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar
- Testing with Jest (unit, integration, workflow, regression)
- AI-assisted development (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
- SQL performance tuning, cron/batch pipelines, and background jobs
- Healthcare systems: EHR/FHIR integrations, payer workflows, PHI handling
- Monitoring & logging (Sentry, Stackdriver, structured logs)
- Analytics / BI tools (MySQL analytics, BigQuery, Looker Studio)
