Title: Product Designer - Shopping Experience
Position Type: Contract Length: Until 6/30/2025, with potential for extension.
Location: Fully remote, with the requirement to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
Job Description:
Our client's Design Team is looking for a Product Designer to provide best in class, accessible and engaging shopping experience for responsive websites with clear understanding of mobile first approach. This Product Designer should be a creative problem solver, be able to transition requirements into elegant designs, and can be a self-starter as well as managing multiple projects. The ideal candidate has experience across many user-centered design disciplines and is highly knowledgeable about the latest interaction, design standards and accessibility compliances.
Essential Responsibilities:
- A practitioner of universal design principles, design with accessibility guidelines in mind, and advocate across teams.
- Has a focus on ecommerce core experience with designers, researchers, product managers and engineers, by understanding business needs and product requirements.
- Translate user needs and product requirements into conceptual diagrams, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mocks. Use design systems, style guides and assets to create intuitive users-friendly experiences. Proficient in conducting UX analysis (competitive analysis, cognitive walkthrough, task analysis,...etc) that leads to the development of sound UX concepts, including the definition of customer needs, the creation of scenarios and use cases.
- Deliver effective documentation and communication of design – via clear visual presentation and detailed annotation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in UX design for e-commerce websites and experience in working on top of funnel (product pages, product listing pages, navigation etc.)
- Excellent visual and interaction / motion design skills.
- Expert knowledge and skills in Figma (working with and creating components, using Design Systems, building prototypes).
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to advocate for design and align cross-functional teams.
- Positive attitude, able to play well with others and thrives in collaboration with our partners and stakeholders.
- Has a "no task is too small" mentality.
- Familiar with setting up usability testing as well as delivering research insights.
- Proficient using Jira and Confluence, able to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment.
- Online portfolio to showcase your ability to solve complex problems is a must.
- Bachelor degree in UX Design, HCI, or related fields.
- Experience in global feature rollout or managing multiple brands at the same time is a preferred.
- Clear understanding of WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 requirements and industry best practices around accessibility/inclusive design is a plus
