Senior Software Developer – Real-Time Voice AI | Remote (US/Canada – ET or PT hours)

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key engineer in our fast-growing team, driving innovation at the crossroads of AI, voice tech, and real-time systems:

• Build and iterate on voice-first AI features that redefine how emergency calls are handled
• Design and scale infrastructure to meet strict reliability and performance standards
• Own features across the stack — backend services, frontend interfaces, and everything in between
• Optimize audio processing (STT, TTS, VAD, noise filtering, etc.) for real-time response
• Integrate LLMs like OpenAI, Cohere, or Anthropic into powerful voice workflows
• Collaborate directly with founders and help set our technical vision
• Grow into a mentorship/leadership role as the team scales

You’ll Succeed If You Have...

• Experience in real-time/concurrent programming (Elixir, Go, or similar)
• Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL and scalable backend systems
• Hands-on work with voice/audio processing
• Comfort with AI tools/LLMs (LangChain, OpenAI, etc.)
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• A mindset for building robust, fail-safe systems

Bonus Points For:

• Python or Node.js/TypeScript experience
• Knowledge of telephony protocols (PSTN, SIP, PBX)
• Familiarity with WebRTC or vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant)
• Previous work on mission-critical or real-time applications
