About The Role
Boeing is seeking experienced Software Engineers specializing in Simulation to join our Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools Deployment team based in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is pivotal in supporting our Software Fabric and Boeing Emulation, Simulation, Test, and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) business organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining simulation software that supports a broad range of applications, including software verification, hardware testing, flight trainers, and warfare scenario simulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of aerospace simulation technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging in innovative projects that impact both commercial and defense sectors. This role involves participating in small, agile development teams and sometimes working independently to implement complex requirements. The candidate should be comfortable with agile methodologies such as sprint planning, scrums, retrospectives, and demonstrations. The position requires a collaborative mindset, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and a passion for process improvement. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to new environments and technologies, eager to learn, and capable of solving complex problems with ingenuity and innovation. Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in software programming with proficiency in C, C++, C#, and .NET frameworks, including debugging and development. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience with Python programming is required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution is essential. For more senior roles, candidates with 5 or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are preferred. Preferred qualifications include experience with Rust programming language, active security clearance, embedded software, hardware interfacing, and working across software interface boundaries involving hardware, firmware, and software. Familiarity with avionics and Ethernet communication protocols, Agile methodologies, Git, Continuous Integration, and cloud computing technologies is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate decision-making abilities, multitasking skills, and experience in software development environments such as Visual Studio.
