Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler Designers to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing compliant and cost-effective fire protection systems using the latest design software and applicable codes. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to produce high-quality submittals and construction drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Alarm Design:

• Design fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, local building codes, and client requirements.
• Develop wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, floor plans, and equipment layouts.
• Select appropriate fire alarm control panels, detectors, and initiating devices.
• Prepare submittals and construction documentation using CAD/Revit software.
• Coordinate with AHJs for plan reviews, permitting, and inspections.

Fire Sprinkler Design:

• Design wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems per NFPA 13, 14, and 20.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using HASS, HydraCALC, or similar tools.
• Create shop drawings and material submittals.
• Ensure system designs comply with applicable codes and specifications.
• Coordinate with architectural and structural plans.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in fire alarm and/or sprinkler system design.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and local fire codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
• Experience with HydraCAD, AlarmCAD, or similar tools (preferred).
• NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm or Sprinkler Systems (preferred).
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
