About our client:

Our client is a top-tier retailer committed to delivering high-quality, licensed products to their partners, brands, and customers. They collaborate with major retailers like Target and Walmart, ensuring best-in-class art and quality in every product.

Position Summary:

The Apparel Graphic Designer (Adults / Men) is responsible for supporting the creative department at a retail company based in the US. As an Apparel Graphic Designer, you will work with Sr. Graphic Designer to create seasonal, brand-appropriate prints and graphics for the clothing collections. The Apparel Graphic Designer will create, visualize, and execute seasonal original prints from the initial along with presentations for the sales department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic/art design or Fashion with at least 5+ years' experience in the fashion industry working with print design and repeats.

  • Prior experience with licenses and licensed apparel.

  • Knowledge and interest in pop culture, music, TV shows and movies, and cartoons is a plus.

  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience working B2B, with startup companies and American clients. Professional English Level.

Responsibilities

  • Identify print trends and creatively incorporate them into licensed and non-licensed commercials that are feasible for producing apparel products.

  • Create original seasonal licensed prints/screen artwork that stands out from the competition.

  • Communicate, with attention to detail, during all the stages of work.

  • Manage time and multitask to meet deadlines.

  • Have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.

Hard Skills

  • Proficiency in design software: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Should be able to use these tools to create high-quality images, illustrations, and other graphic elements.

  • Creativity: come up with new and original ideas for the designs. Be able to think outside the box and come up with fresh perspectives on different licensed artworks.

  • Strong understanding of design principles: strong knowledge of design principles, such as composition, color theory, and typography, and use these principles to create visually appealing and practical designs.

  • Research skills: research trends, licenses, buyers, and competitors to gather data to create a well-informed design. Should be able to identify problems, brainstorm solutions, and implement the best solution.

  • Stay up-to-date on trends: be able to identify and incorporate trends into the work in a way that is both creative and commercial.

  • General knowledge of apparel manufacturing: know fabric types, printing techniques, and construction methods to create feasible designs that can be accurately translated into production.

  • Strong communication skills: clearly and concisely sketch and concept their ideas to communicate their vision to clients and collaborators.

  • Print and illustration skills: strong sketching and illustration skills and technical print knowledge, including print techniques and rotary repeats.

Soft Skills

  • Communication skills: communicate effectively with the clients, whether it’s a large corporation or a small business. Should be able to clearly and concisely explain the ideas, provide feedback, and work collaboratively to achieve a common goal.

  • Attention to detail: have a sharp eye for detail to proofread their work carefully and ensure it is free of errors. This is especially important in the apparel industry, where even a tiny mistake can be costly.

  • Adaptability: learn new design styles, keep up with latest trends, and adjust to new technologies.

  • Organization skills: manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and stay on top of the workload to meet deadlines without cutting corners.

  • Stress management skills: stay calm under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills: build relationships with clients, collaborators, and suppliers, work well with others, communicate effectively, share ideas,

    and collaborate on projects.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team: work independently and as part of a team to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in both situations.

  • Be open to feedback, be open to feedback and be able to make revisions to the designs and incorporate the feedback in a way that improves the final product.
