About Us
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with innovative US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Role
We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join a fast-growing healthtech team building software and data infrastructure for precision medicine and oncology. You’ll design intuitive, accessible interfaces for clinicians, researchers, and lab users—translating complex biomedical workflows into clear, usable digital experiences.
This is a product-focused role with a strong emphasis on design systems, cross-functional collaboration, and high-quality handoffs to engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end user experiences for web-based clinical and research tools (flows, wireframes, prototypes, visual designs.
- Translate complex biomedical and lab workflows into clear, usable interfaces for clinicians, researchers, and lab staff.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system in Figma (components, tokens, documentation).
- Run user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to validate designs and iterate.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to ensure design consistency and technical feasibility.
- Produce clear design specs and ensure smooth handoffs to engineering (including accessibility and front-end considerations).
- Contribute to the product’s visual identity and help scale design practices across a remote team.
What We’re Looking
- For3–7 years of experience designing digital products (web/SaaS preferred).
- Strong portfolio showing UX flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and the rationale behind design decisions (required).
- Expert-level Figma skills (components, variants, FigJam for workshops).
- Solid UX process: user research, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.
- Ability to present and defend design choices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with engineers and understanding front-end constraints (basic HTML/CSS/React familiarity is a plus).
- Organized, user-centered, and able to work independently in a small, fast-moving team.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthtech, clinical software, or regulated/data-sensitive domains.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, HIPAA/GDPR considerations, or handling sensitive biomedical data.
- Experience documenting design systems for distributed teams and improving design-to-dev workflows.
- Exposure to prototyping for data-heavy interfaces and visualization patterns.
- Interest or experience working with ML/AI-driven features in product interfaces.
What’s in It for you
- Mission-driven impact: Work on software that helps accelerate access to precision cancer therapies.
- Technical and design challenges: Tackle meaningful, technically complex UX challenges at the intersection of healthcare and AI.
- Flexible, results-oriented culture: Remote-first LatAm setup, objective-based work, and unlimited PTO.
- Cross-cultural collaboration: Join a bilingual team with direct exposure to US/EU research sponsors and real-world clinical users.
