Java Backend Developer or Lead Java Developer

🚀 We're Hiring: Senior Software Engineer (Java with Scala/Kotlin) – Remote (US/Canada)
🔧 Full-Time / Long-Term Contract

Are you passionate about building mission-critical financial systems? We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in evolving our Money product architecture. If you're a hands-on engineer with Java, Scala, and/or Kotlin experience – we want to hear from you!🛠 What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development and testing of highly scalable systems and backend services.
• Shape the technical architecture for our next-gen banking core and new financial products (like CDs).
• Translate product goals into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, design, and product.
• Mentor and guide other engineers to build a strong technical culture.
• Support production services and participate in on-call rotations.

✅ What You’ll Need:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience on modern backend stacks.
• Strong expertise in Java and Scala (Kotlin experience highly preferred).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus).
• Solid grasp of microservices and service-oriented architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Kubernetes preferred).
• Excellent communication, ownership, and a collaborative mindset.

🌟 Nice to Have:

• Experience in fintech or financial services.
• Interest in personal finance and modern banking solutions.
• Exposure to Kafka, Docker, POSIX.
• Some full-stack experience (React/TypeScript/JavaScript) is a bonus.
