Responsibilities

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence (ALI) is looking to add a senior User Experience consultant to a new initiative team. As a member of the UX Services team, the User Experience (UX) Consultant is a passionate, positive, and collaborative problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with others to make incredibly complex things simple.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively lead the UX design of a new industrial plant operations product coming into our portfolio.
  • Research, analyze project requirements, conceptualize user experience designs, conduct user testing, and collaborate with product owners and business analysts about functional and customer needs.
  • Create workflows, sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas.
  • Actively participate in daily team meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers.
  • Coordinate with multi-regional development centers and scrum teams on design issues relating to user experience.
  • Share knowledge of user-centered design principles and help development teams to brainstorm innovative solutions through user experience consulting.

Education / Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in software product design
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, other related design degree, or additional work experience. Advanced degrees and specialized experience are a plus
  • Strong background in UX design principles and information architecture
  • Experience working with Figma is required. Additional experience with Adobe Illustrator, Axure, Balsamiq, or similar design tools is a plus
  • Strong tendency toward visual thinking, using techniques like sketching and interactive prototyping to communicate concepts
  • Ability to produce all specified deliverables required on the project, ranging from static wireframes through interactive prototypes, videos, icons, and mockups
  • A self-starter, highly organized, expert generalist, design thinker, and design tinkerer
  • Good presentation, communication, consulting, public relations, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with agile software development and globally distributed team.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS, with basic knowledge of responsive design.
  • Constant drive to stay up to date with the latest industry trends, news, and developments.
  • Experience with design of new product launches.
  • Experience with planning, conducting, and reporting usability testing.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, industrial plant operations.
