We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Link 16 Development who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in the Hague, Netherlands.
Eligibility:
- Candidate must currently reside in the EU.
- Portuguese Citizenship is mandatory.
- Candidate must be prepared to obtain EU Clearance after accepting the job offer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finalize Development of Link 16 Modelling:
- Complete the development of a validated and verified Link 16 Standard Modelling for all Link 16 transactions, in accordance with STANAG 5516 Edition 6.
- Enhance HTML Representation:
- Improve and enhance the HTML representations of orchestration and processing flow diagrams generated from XML instance documents with advanced hyperlinking and usability features.
- Support Verification and Validation (V&V):
- Create necessary documentation and materials to support V&V efforts, demonstrating how Link 16 achievements can be expanded to other Tactical Data Link documents (ATDLP-5.11, -5.16, -5.18, -5.22, -5.01).
- Utilize Existing Work:
- Leverage extensive development work already completed by the NCI Agency to meet project deliverables.
- Document & Analyze Materials:
- Analyze, evaluate, and document relevant technical materials (e.g., STANAGs, MIL-STDs, SIDs, ICDs) to support design decisions and implement required functionality, in collaboration with the Project Manager and Lead Engineer.
- Testing and Documentation:
- Test implemented functionalities and document results according to required standards.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related engineering field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of software development experience in large-scale environments.
- Previous work experience in secure environments is required.
Technical Skills
- Programming:
- Advanced knowledge in Java, JavaScript, and XML-based tools like XML/XSD/XSLT.
- Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js.
- Platform Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Oracle Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Windows, including understanding their security policies.
- Operating Systems:
- Experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Preferred Knowledge (Military Protocols):
- Familiarity with Link 16, JREAP, SIMPLE, L22, and other Tactical Data Links is highly desirable.
- Tools & Technologies:
- Proficiency in tools like Karaf/OSGI, Docker, Jira, Jenkins, JUnit, Maven, GIT.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- REST-based API development and advanced HTML/CSS expertise.
- Agile Development & CI/CD Pipelines:
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile project methodologies, and associated tools.
Cybersecurity and Technical Writing
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and development of secure software.
- Proficiency in technical writing and creating clear and concise documentation.
