Data Scientist | Mid

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a customer-facing data team in the technology sector, supporting solutions related to financial risk prevention. This role combines data analysis, machine learning model development, client enablement and cross-functional collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Analyze client data to understand its structure, quality, consistency and relevance for model development.

- Clean, validate and preprocess data using scripting and programming approaches suitable for scalable data workflows.

- Build, tune and improve machine learning features, parameters and models through iterative analysis and testing.

- Communicate data science findings clearly to support project decisions and delivery planning.

- Collaborate with client stakeholders, including data scientists, engineers and risk professionals, to support solution implementation.

- Work with internal teams such as product, research and delivery to improve processes, tooling and best practices.

- Support client activation, maintenance, training and enablement across the solution lifecycle.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related field.

- Professional experience in data science, machine learning and applied data analysis in a client-facing or delivery-oriented environment.

- Ability to work autonomously on data preparation, model improvement and technical problem-solving activities.

- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain findings and technical constraints to project and business stakeholders.

- Collaborative, responsible and solution-oriented mindset, aligned with continuous improvement and quality delivery.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Machine learning model training, testing, validation and overfitting prevention.

- Data cleaning, validation, preprocessing and feature engineering.

- Python and Bash scripting.

- Java or Scala.

- Big Data technologies, including Spark, Hadoop or related ecosystems.

- Runtime optimization and resource monitoring at JVM and operating system level.

NICE TO HAVE

- Statistics or data visualization.

- Tree-based algorithms such as Random Forests, XGBoost or LightGBM.

- Deep learning algorithms.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 22,000 - EUR 28,000 gross/year

Total compensation: up to EUR 34,000/year

The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
