We're looking for a Software Engineer III who thrives at the intersection of modern web development, automation, and AI. In this role, you'll design, build, and ship production software that powers our internal platforms, client-facing tools, and AI-driven workflows. You'll work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams across Content, Digital PR, and PPC to turn ideas into reliable, well-tested systems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain web applications and internal tools using Python (Django/Flask), JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Next.js), and/or PHP (WordPress)
Build and integrate AI-powered features using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, linting, and deployment
Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, e2e) to ensure code quality and reliability
Build and consume RESTful APIs and work with third-party integrations (Ahrefs, HubSpot, Google APIs, WordPress REST API)
Contribute to frontend development — build responsive, accessible UI components and pages
Collaborate with non-engineering stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance and database queries
Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.)

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with at least one modern framework on each side (e.g., Django + React/Next.js)
Hands-on experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features in production applications
Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
Experience writing automated tests and maintaining test coverage across a codebase
Comfortable with frontend development — HTML, CSS, React, or similar component-based frameworks
Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and query optimization
Experience with Git, pull request workflows, and collaborative development practices
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker)
Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
Fluent in English
Experience with WordPress at a development level (theme/plugin development, REST API, headless setups)
Familiarity with SEO concepts, marketing technology, or legal marketing
Experience with data pipelines, ETL tools (e.g., Airbyte), or analytics platforms
Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Exposure to MCP servers, tool-use patterns, or AI agent frameworks
