General Overview
The setup and Construction Design Assistant is a position that works collaboratively with Heirloom’s Construction and SetUp Design departments. Their primary function is to assist the Design Managers and Associates in the design process and outcome. The role will specifically focus on assisting with locating finishes from past projects, sourcing replacement selections, sourcing alternate construction material, fixture & finish spec selections, and procurement. The role will also include updating the construction selections standards library. This role offers the ability to grow into a more integral team role based on performance. The role will also include updating the construction selections standards library. Design projects include, but are not limited to: single family homes, boutique hotels, Inns, B&B, and hostels. Project location can vary depending on the development pipeline.
Essential Functions
- Constructions Design Replacements: Locate requested finishes in the database and supply for
- touchups, small construction renovations, etc.
- Setup Design Replacements: review ticket, Guesty and marketing photos, and dimensions provided to provide designers with three alternate options to replace damaged selections.
- Provide 3 construction selections in various price points
- Source alternate furniture and lighting selections when original selections are out of stock
- Work with Procurement team to manage the process of placing, tracking, receiving orders, and managing returns
- Produce construction schedules based on selections entered into Google sheets and enter into Gather
- Enter new standard selections into Construction Standards database in Gather
- Enter finalized Setup selections from Google Sheets into Gather and assist in creating PO’s
- Assist in the project organization including budget updates, project updates/communications, maintaining project specs.
Requirements
- A successful Design Assistant is a creative and process-minded team member with a meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate has an ownership mentality, is committed to excellence, and able to think intuitively.
- Fluent English required
- Must be literate in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Applications - learning new tech should feel intuitive.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
- Exceptional aesthetic taste
- 3+ years of interior design work experience: design concept creation, sourcing, procurement, purchasing.
- Highly organized and demonstrate exemplary planning, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
- Proactive approach to problem solving (critical thinker)
