Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in POS payments and Oracle Xstore to build and scale mission-critical checkout systems used across large retail environments. This role sits at the intersection of payments, performance, and reliability, driving solutions that directly impact transaction speed, success rates, and customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build end-to-end payment flows within Oracle Xstore (card-present, contactless, wallets, returns, etc.)
• Integrate and optimize payment gateways (FreedomPay, Adyen) including routing, tokenization, and reconciliation
• Implement SoftPOS and mobile payment solutions (mPOS, app-to-app flows)
• Ensure PCI, EMV, P2PE, and security compliance across all payment systems
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability across POS and payment infrastructure
• Partner with vendors, operations, and engineering teams to deploy scalable solutions across store fleets
• Lead testing strategies, rollouts, and production support for high-volume environments
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices across POS and payments development

What You Bring (Top Skills)

• Strong experience with Oracle Xstore & EFTLink (extensions, services, deployments)
• Hands-on expertise with payment gateways (FreedomPay or Adyen)
• Deep understanding of card-present payments, EMV, tokenization, and PCI compliance
• Proficiency in Java + integrations (REST APIs, messaging, distributed systems)
• Experience supporting large-scale retail or POS environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with both FreedomPay and Adyen
• Knowledge of payment devices (Ingenico, Verifone, etc.)
• Exposure to device management, key injection, and certificate lifecycle
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with high-availability payment systems at scale
