Job Summary

The Sr Software Engineer assists in streamlining internal and client processes through automation and data visualization. The Sr Software Engineer utilizes Healthfuse systems and software to analyze industry and client-specific data for the purpose of making business process improvements, and contract negotiation recommendations to internal resources and external clients, as well as demonstrating engagement value and vendor performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Full stack development - Plan, build and deploy innovative solutions with existing and emerging technologies. Create and manage applications and libraries and handle integrations between services. Optimize and refactor code with performance in mind.
  • Testing – Unit/System/Integration testing. Responsible for designing and running tests on software usability.
  • Documentation - Create reference docs, development standards, workflows, etc...
  • Code review - Ensure a high quality of code within the team, identify potential issues before they appear and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Mentoring - Support other developers as they build new features, fix bugs, and do application and database tuning to improve performance. You’ve leveraged your technical expertise in infrastructure and development to become a respected leader on the team.
  • Support - Provide product support to the Healthfuse teams as needed.
  • Planning - Work closely with other departments to ascertain requirements from stakeholders.
  • Looking forward - Share your ideas around how we can improve, create amazing products and drive the business forward.

  • HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and JSON for client-side development
  • ASP.NET MVC framework for server-side presentation logic
  • DevExtreme for UI component libraries
  • Application Tier:
  • C# as the primary programming language
  • Code First Entity Framework with Database Migrations for data access and schema management
  • LINQ for querying data
  • Leveraging Azure services including Azure Function Applications, Azure Data Factories, Azure Logic Applications, and Azure WebJobs for scalable and event-driven processing
  • Database Tier:
  • Microsoft SQL Server for relational database management
  • T-SQL Stored Procedures and T-SQL Functions for optimized data manipulation and retrieval
  • Project Management:
  • Agile Development methodologies, integrated with DevOps practices
  • Automated deployments via DevOps pipeline
  • Scalability and High Availability: Azure cloud architecture patterns
  • Reporting Tier: Tableau / Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

  • Emerging Technologies: Evaluation of newer software architectures such as Microsoft Blazor, with a planned transition contingent on resource availability and strategic alignment
  • Advanced Cloud and DevOps Expertise: Continuous development of advanced knowledge in Azure cloud services and comprehensive DevOps practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Travels when required to fulfill tasks assigned – expectation is 0-10%
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of related experience with Azure
  • 2+ years of experience using BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or MS SSRS
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities
  • High data analytics and strong problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Healthcare and Revenue Cycle Management experience preferred

  • Ability to work in a high activity/fast paced environment
  • Project management skills, ability to define and manage processes and projects, making recommendations for improvement when necessary
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
