About the role

This is a mid-level position on the HeadSpin India Build and Release team. The team is responsible for collaborating with other engineering teams and operations both in a support role and in designing, implementing and maintaining high-quality pipelines and tooling to ensure reliable deployment of HeadSpin’s platform and product.

What You'll Do

Work closely with the engineering team to address and resolve deployment issues in a timely manner.

Design, develop, and maintain build and release processes.

Review and provide feedback on code reviews to ensure high code quality and alignment with product vision and goals.

Work with other team members to design and deliver software solutions in a distributed system environment.

Create tooling to reduce toil and increase the reliability of error-prone processes for the software engineering and operations teams.

What You Need

Minimum 4-5 years of experience with backend development in Python

Excellent problem-solving skills

Familiarity with macOS and Linux command-line environments.

Understanding of and experience using source control software such as git.

Experience with BASH.

Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Plus to know Chef or Puppet.

Experience with any containerization technology such as:

Docker

Podman

Kubernetes

Understanding of and experience with back-end development and technologies, such as:

SQL or NoSQL databases

Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP requests

Experience working with cloud hosting platforms such as:

AWS

GCP

Able to read and implement technical specifications.

Able to collaborate on developing project specifications.

Able to communicate technical details to non-technical support staff in a solutions-oriented manner.

Bonus points

Deep *nix knowledge.

Networking knowledge.

Familiarity with Node.js and Vue.js.

Familiarity with Jenkins and Github Actions workflows.

Familiarity with Windows and Powershell.

Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure as code.

Required Experience

6-7 years of experience working in a backend software engineering or DevOps role.

Required Education

BE in Computer Science or Information Science or MCA
