Position Summary

HCL Software develops, markets, sells, and supports over 20 product families across seven main pillars: AO & Intelligence Operations, Business & Industry Applications, Cybersecurity, Data & Analytics, Sovereign Collaboration, Specialized Software, and Total Experience (https://www.hcl-software.com/)

We have an exciting HCL career opportunity to lead Change and Configuration Management Development team responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies and products. In this role, it critical that you remain as a technical engineer of software products and applications using modern frameworks and languages such as C, C++, or Java. I additional you need to have 2-3 recent years as a People Manager of a team

Our software offers comprehensive software configuration management and change management capabilities that facilitate sophisticated version control, workspace management, parallel development support, build auditing and DevOps pipeline integrations to help improve productivity.

Our diverse, multi-disciplinary worldwide team includes architects, software developers, test automation engineers, release engineering, technical writers, and UX designers, who collectively work to advance the evolution of products.

What will you be doing

  • Ensure innovative software components / product are delivered on time; beat market and customer expectations.
  • Act as a pacesetter and help team members understand the impact of their interactions with team(s), and when required, help everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created.
  • Help translation of business requirements into technical needs and actions.
  • Present practical input for strategic technology decisions. Support preparation of Technology Roadmap.
  • Raise accountability; escalate issues in a timely manner and create and maintain Project Plans
  • Supervise professional development of software engineering staff.
  • Assign work to software engineering personnel, evaluate the engineers contributions and manage their performance.
  • Support to recruit engineering personnel, technical staffing and project teams formation.
  • Comply with all professional departmental as well as company best practices.
  • Ensure software engineering personnel is suitably trained to perform all job function and suitably use project and software related tools.

What we need from you (Qualifications, Years of Experience and Skills)

Qualifications

  • This is a remote role for someone who presently lives in the EST or CST
  • Experience and commitment to work with various global GEOs and others time zones as needed
  • Must have the work authorization status as a US Citizen. We cannot accept a Green Card Holder or any form of Visa candidate for this role.
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis of 5%

Mandated skills technical and functional skills

  • Between 8 to 15 years in software engineering software products and applications using modern frameworks and languages such as C, C++, or Java
  • 2-3 recent years of Personal / People Management & Development of Configuration and Change Management Software including hiring, development and ensure training if needed
  • Experience working within an Agile development process.
  • Able to work in a geographically distributed team structure. - Open to work across geographies, cultures, and time-zones.
  • Able to create a customer relationship and establish trust and have a passion for solving customer issues.
  • Ability to quickly understand the troubled-spot and trouble-shoot a given situation systematically.
  • Good Business acumen.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • BS (MS preferred)

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with DevOps, Cloud technology – its deployment models.
  • Working experience with any Unix/Linux flavor.
  • Ready to embrace AI to improve team efficiencies.
