Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Performance Engineer with 8+ years of exp to own performance testing, environment management, and automation for our product suite. This role combines deep performance engineering responsibilities with modern automation practices, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performing product deployments. You will work closely with development, QA, and product teams to design, execute, and analyse performance tests while also maintaining the infrastructure required to run them efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in Performance Engineering with strong exposure to automation and CI/CD practices.

Proven expertise in load, stress, scalability, and endurance testing.

Strong skills in performance monitoring and analysis tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or equivalent).

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for test automation and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).

Knowledge of containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) for environment setup and scaling.

Strong background in Windows and Linux environments with deployment/administration knowledge.

Ability to diagnose and resolve scalability, performance, and environment-related issues.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Btech/BE in Computer Science or related technical field or proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Engineering

Define and execute performance testing strategy using AppScan Enterprise and other industry-standard tools.

Design and run load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests across full product environments.

Analyse performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations.

Define benchmarks, capacity models, and performance SLAs.

Provide profiling, tuning, and performance insights to development teams.

Environment & Automation

Maintain and manage performance environments with full product setup, ensuring availability and reliability for scheduled test cycles.

Automate performance test setup and execution pipelines using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Develop and maintain infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent) for repeatable environment provisioning.

Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.) to observe system behaviour under load.

Troubleshoot and resolve performance environment, deployment, and configuration issues.

Collaboration & Leadership

Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to ensure performance requirements are built into product design.

Mentor team members on performance engineering practices and automation.

Contribute to platform improvements by driving automation, serviceability, and scalability initiatives.
