Role Overview
As a UX Designer / Consultant, youβll lead research and design efforts to shape intuitive, inclusive, and effective digital services for our clients. Youβll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver user-centred outcomes β from user research and testing to prototyping and service design.
This role offers flexibility β you can work remotely, from client sites, or from our offices in Milton Keynes or Godalming.
Key Responsibilities
- User Research: Plan and conduct user research (interviews, surveys, workshops) to understand needs and pain points.
- Analysis & Insight: Analyse qualitative and quantitative data; triangulate findings to uncover actionable insights.
- Design & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys with tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or Balsamiq.
- Usability Testing: Plan, conduct, and analyse usability sessions to test design options.
- Accessibility: Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 and design inclusively for users with diverse digital literacy.
- Agile Collaboration: Work closely with developers, BAs, and product owners in Agile teams.
- Advocacy: Promote user-centred design principles and mentor client teams in UX best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to Triadβs UX Community of Practice and help shape internal standards.
Skills & Experience
β
Proven experience in UX design, research, and usability testing.
β
Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or Balsamiq.
β
Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
β
Familiarity with Front-End technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Google Analytics (desirable).
β
Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards (desirable).
β
Comfortable working in Agile environments.
β
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
π¨ A strong UX portfolio is required.
Qualifications
- Degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related discipline (desirable).
- Must be eligible for SC Security Clearance β UK residency for 5+ years required.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that established design standards are consistently and appropriately applied within design work
- Engage with product management, engineering, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to understand project
- Develop and present documentation, user flows, annotated wireframes, and interactive prototypes
- Leverage user testing make product improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field of study
- 2+ years' of experience in design
- Proficient in visual design and wireframing tools
