Lead Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Play a critical role in the sustainment of the current environment and the delivery of new capabilities.
• Develop solutions to complex technical issues, employing ingenuity and creativity.
• Drive delivery, lead technical decision-making, and collaborate with engineers and architects.
• Act as a customer-facing technical lead, communicating status, risks, and recommendations.
• Lead full-stack delivery, including backend services (Java) and modern single-page applications (React/TypeScript, Angular, or Vue).
• Promote strong engineering practices, ensuring adherence to code review standards and quality gates.

What You'll Need

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on delivery in Java (8, 17, 21) and REST API design.
• Modern SPA development experience using React, TypeScript, Angular, or Vue.
• Proven experience as a technical leader, guiding and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and a structured approach to software development.
• Demonstrated experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Agile software development processes and CI/CD concepts.
