About the Role
Leidos is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) programme for the UK Ministry of Defence — a major initiative transforming the UK’s defence supply chain.
As part of a highly skilled engineering team, you’ll play a key role in developing, integrating, and maintaining complex cloud-based systems that support mission-critical logistics and operations.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end software solutions in Java and related technologies.
- Build integrations across multiple enterprise systems and cloud platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, application walkthroughs, and design discussions.
- Support build and deployment processes, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Maintain clear documentation and adhere to software development standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Hands-on coding experience with Java and one or more of JavaScript, Python, or Perl.
- Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development.
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, and Packer.
- Background in Linux/Unix environments.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Desirable:
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Understanding of J2EE, RESTful APIs, Node.js, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with IBM WebSphere MQ, IBM Sterling OMS, or similar tools.
Clearance Requirements
- BPSS clearance required to start.
- Must hold or be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
