C++ Software Engineer | £60,000 - £75,000
We're working with a pioneering spatial computing and real-time rendering studio on this exciting opportunity. They are pushing the boundaries of how we interact with digital environments, developing cutting-edge hardware and software that bridges the gap between the physical and virtual worlds.
As a C++ Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing high-performance rendering pipelines and spatial computing frameworks. You will leverage OpenGL, Vulkan, and XR technologies to create immersive experiences that are set to redefine the future of augmented and virtual reality.
The Role
- Drive the development of real-time graphics systems using C++ and OpenGL/Vulkan for next-generation spatial computing hardware.
- Architect and optimize low-latency rendering pipelines to ensure smooth, high-fidelity AR/VR/XR experiences.
- Debug and profile complex real-time systems across embedded and purpose-built hardware environments to maximize performance.
- Collaborate on large-scale codebases, contributing to the full software development lifecycle from initial testing to production release and field support.
- Work directly with end-users and cross-functional teams to gather feedback, validate technical solutions, and iterate on spatial concepts like 3D transformations and projections.
What You'll Need
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ with proven experience shipping production-grade software in a high-performance environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of real-time graphics APIs, specifically OpenGL or Vulkan, and high-performance optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of spatial computing fundamentals, including 3D coordinate systems, matrix transformations, and projection math.
- Hands-on experience with XR frameworks such as OpenXR or OpenVR, or professional exposure to Unity/Unreal Engine rendering internals.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset and the ability to navigate complex, large-scale codebases.
What's On Offer
- Competitive salary (£60k - £75k) with additional equity options to own a piece of the company’s success.
- Remote-friendly working environment that prioritizes work-life balance and autonomous delivery.
- Technical ownership of projects in the booming field of spatial computing and real-time rendering.
- Comprehensive benefits package and the chance to work on world-first hardware and software integration.
