Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Marketing Manager (Volunteer) to lead digital marketing initiatives for Harvard in Tech. In this role, you will oversee our social media strategy, guide website updates, support SEO efforts, and lead content creation to help expand HIT’s reach and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute a content calendar for LinkedIn, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), ensuring brand consistency and engagement.
• Team Management: Oversee a small team of social media coordinators and content creators, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
• Website & SEO: Collaborate with the website team to ensure timely updates and implement SEO best practices to improve search visibility.
• Content Planning & Oversight: Support blog writing and repurposing of webinar content into social posts. Provide editing oversight and ensure alignment with HIT messaging.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze digital performance metrics (KPI reporting) to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
• Project Coordination: Work cross-functionally with other marketing team leads to align on broader strategy and campaigns.
Qualifications
• 5–7 years of marketing experience, including 2+ years in a strategic or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in social media strategy, content development, and performance tracking.
• Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress).
• Understanding of SEO fundamentals and content marketing best practices.
• Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and mentor junior volunteers with clear direction and support.
