Role: Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering
Location: Remote (West Coast)
Compensation: $180,000 - $215,000 base
Harrison Clarke are partnered with a high-growth, venture-backed AI company building the infrastructure layer that enables enterprises in regulated industries to deploy and operate AI systems safely, reliably, and at scale.
The company sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure, cloud-native systems, and enterprise software, with a mission to bring trust, observability, and operational rigor to AI-powered workflows.
They are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help build and scale the core services underpinning the platform, while working closely with technical leadership on architecture, AI initiatives, and next-generation engineering workflows.
Role Requirements:
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native backend services using Python and Kubernetes.
- Build scalable, secure, and observable platform services that support enterprise-grade AI workloads.
- Work across platform, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Contribute to event-driven and distributed system architectures operating in production environments.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tooling to improve development velocity and software quality.
- Contribute to emerging AI engineering patterns including agentic systems, retrieval architectures, and AI-enabled workflows.
Profile Signals:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend and platform engineering fundamentals.
- Strong proficiency with Python and experience working with cloud-native technologies.
- Experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, observability, and CI/CD.
- Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure (preferable) or AWS.
- Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar.
- A passion for building reliable systems that operate in complex and highly regulated environments.
