Data Scientist - Ad Network

Remote | US-based

A high-growth technology company is looking for a Data Scientist to join a growing Ad Network team and take ownership of some of the company's most important data and analytics challenges.

This is a highly hands-on role sitting at the intersection of data science, analytics, data engineering, and product. You'll work closely with business leaders, product, engineering, and ML teams to build the data foundations and analytical systems that help optimize a rapidly growing network.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who enjoys moving beyond analysis and wants to build the underlying data systems, models, and analytical frameworks that a business actually runs on.

What you'll be doing

• Partner with Product and Business leaders to define and track critical KPIs and success metrics
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting around performance, adoption, and growth
• Own and expand the underlying data models supporting analytics, reporting, ML, and product experiences
• Design and implement aggregation tables and data pipelines using SQL/ETL tooling
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify patterns, opportunities, and sources of friction
• Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that influence product and business decisions
• Monitor data quality, data flows, and anomalies and work with Engineering to improve instrumentation
• Analyze the health and economics of a two-sided network and identify opportunities to improve performance for different stakeholders
• Build and improve attribution and conversion measurement
• Work on entity resolution and data-linking problems across multiple datasets
• Explore graph-based approaches to modeling relationships between entities
• Partner with ML teams on experimentation, model measurement, and advanced analytical projects
• Help develop new data products and analytical capabilities using behavioral and interaction data

What they're looking for

• 3+ years of experience as a highly technical Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar
• Excellent SQL - this is a core requirement
• Strong experience building BI dashboards and reporting
• Hands-on experience with data modeling for analytics and reporting
• Experience building or maintaining SQL-based ETL/data transformation pipelines
• Strong Python or R skills for analysis and statistical work
• Experience with experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing
• Familiarity with statistical techniques such as regression and clustering
• Ability to take an ambiguous business problem, structure the analysis, and turn the output into a clear recommendation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience in Ad Tech, Marketing Analytics, marketplaces, or other network-based businesses
• Experience with ClickHouse or another OLAP database
• Experience with entity resolution / entity matching
• Experience with graph databases or graph-based data modeling
• Experience working closely with ML/AI teams
• Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
