Staff Data Scientist - Product Growth

Remote Role in the United States

$180,000 - $225,000 base + equity

I'm working with a rapidly scaling, product-led startup in the travel space that's looking to bring on a Staff Data Scientist to join their Growth team. This company has a strong culture of ownership, a fast-moving environment, and a leadership team that’s serious about using data to drive product innovation and revenue growth.

This role is all about unlocking new growth opportunities across search, onboarding, and user funnel optimization. You’ll be embedded within a product team, owning ranking algorithms, next-best-action models, and personalization efforts—working directly with PMs and engineers to ship high-impact features.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and deploy search and ranking models to optimize product discovery
• Uncover hidden levers for account creation, onboarding, and user activation
• Work across the stack—design, build, and productionize models
• Mentor junior analysts/scientists and help grow the team
• Own and influence roadmap decisions within your first 6 months

Technical Must-Haves:

• Python (Pandas, scikit-learn) and strong SQL skills
• PyTorch Lightening
• Experience deploying models to production
• Cloud environment experience (AWS preferred)
• Experience with Airflow or similar tools for model pipelines

Bonus Points For:

• Experience in recommendation systems or personalization
• Background in product/growth-focused roles (e.g., ads, search, onboarding)
