Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager
Location: Remote (Canada, USA) - Ideally EST time zone.
Company: Harley Oliver
Role Type: Fractional Role
About Us:
Harley Oliver is a Toronto-based digital design firm crafting award-winning websites, interfaces, and digital experiences for global clients. With decades of expertise in custom solutions—from e-commerce and branding to product design—we blend creativity, strategy, and technology to build meaningful digital products. As we evolve, Harley Oliver is expanding into venture development and management, partnering with public companies, startups, and celebrity-backed brands to help shape, scale, and launch new ventures. It’s still hands-on, still driven by a startup mentality, and rooted in the same design excellence that’s earned us recognition from the Webby Awards and Awwwards.
Overview:
We’re hiring a Digital Marketing Manager to help lead the growth of a fast-scaling Ecom and CPG brand. This is a freelance, four-month remote role with potential for extension based on performance.
Skills
You’re fluent in full-stack digital marketing — experienced in Shopify, email flows, website merchandising and optimization, performance tracking, integrations, and working with vendors. You combine creativity and technical know-how with a primary focus on growth, conversion, and brand performance.
Expectations
You’ll be exposed to and actively involved in every stage of the brand’s growth, working closely with our Director of Strategy, the client, and a team of marketing contractors. From strategy to execution, you’ll uncover revenue opportunities, test new creative approaches, implement optimizations, and own performance results end-to-end.
Experience
You bring proven experience in Ecommerce and digital marketing — bonus points if that’s within the CPG space. You’ve done this before: led successful growth initiatives, know your way around Shopify, tools like Klaviyo and GA4, and can confidently drive campaigns toward real, measurable results.
Why this role is right for you:
- You’ve got an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in startup culture, think big picture, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get into the weeds.
- You’ve got grit and a can do attitude. Whether it’s a tough task or an unexpected setback, you regroup, refocus, and keep moving forward with an optimistic mindset.
- You’re self-motivated and thrive working independently. We can count on you to take the lead, show initiative, and speak up when you need support. You’re a clear and confident communicator.
Responsibilities:
You’ll be exposed to _all aspect_s of our client’s ecommerce ecosystem. With the support of the Harley Oliver team, you’ll take the lead in driving conversion and revenue for their direct-to-consumer brand.
- Consistent Marketing Optimization: Execute incremental improvements on website, email sequences, and integrations based on real-time performance data.
- Website Merchandising for CRO: Continuously update homepage, PDPs, and site structure to increase conversion rates and average order values.
- Vendor Coordination: Act as liaison for paid media, email, and social vendors, providing necessary assets, insights, and updates.
- Performance Data Reporting: Aggregate, analyze, and organize key metrics across marketing channels to ensure goals and projections are accurately tracked.
- Optimization Feedback Facilitation: Regularly discuss with the Director to propose data-driven improvements based on current performance.
- Marketing Operations & Integrations: Manage and ensure optimal performance of tools used in our client’s ecommerce ecosystem.
- Cost Efficiency: Decrease external agency dependency through internal execution of tasks such as site merchandising and email marketing updates.
Skills:
- Extensive, hands-on experience in ecommerce, direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, and revenue optimization.
- Proficiency in Shopify and application integration. You’ve set up and optimized applications like Klaviyo, ReBuy, Triple Whale, and Yotpo.
- Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing real-time adjustments based on data and creative intuition.
- Experience managing several on-going projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of growth strategies and digital marketing execution.
- Skilled in performance marketing (paid media, SEO), conversion rate optimization (CRO), and customer retention strategies.
- Effective vendor management and coordination of asset production and dissemination.
- Proven history of identifying opportunities to increase return on marketing investment.
Requirements:
- Portfolio demonstrating measurable improvements in key digital marketing metrics.
- 10+ years of industry experience.
- Previous startup experience.
