Founding Head of Marketing

Position: Founding Head of Marketing

Remote: Must be commutable to NYC for meetings with the Founder

Compensation: $160,000 - $280,000 plus bonus & equity

Our client is a successful bootstrapped company with other products already in the market. Now they're launching a brand-new product on the brand-side consumer front, and they're hiring their very first marketing leader to take it to market.

We are not looking for a CMO who's already had their wins. Our client is looking for a Director, VP, or Head of Marketing ready to plant their flag in a new consumer product. Someone with experience building and scaling a DTC brand with their own two hands.

What you'll actually do:

• Find the voice. Figure out who the brand is, how it sounds, and why anyone should care. Then make it stick everywhere it shows up.
• Build the growth engine. Paid search, paid social, lifecycle, content, partnerships, etc. Test what works, kill what doesn't, and scale the winners.
• Own the numbers. CAC, LTV, conversion, retention. You know which metrics actually matter at this stage.
• Be hands-on first. You'll write the copy, launch the campaigns, and brief the creative yourself before you hire anyone to do it.
• Build the team when it's time. You'll decide who comes next and shape what marketing looks like here for years.
• Sit at the table. You'll work alongside leadership on positioning, launches, and the big bets.

Who you are:

• You've been the first marketer (or close to it) somewhere, and you loved the chaos.
• You've got real wins in DTC, ecommerce, or consumer brands.
• You know Meta, Google & TikTok inside and out, but paid is not always the main focus.
• Brand, content, and community are how you like to win
• You have taste. You know great creative when you see it and can explain why it works.
• You're scrappy, and you get creative when resources are tight.
• Bonus points if you've built a team from scratch.
• Prior founder or early-employee experience is what we are looking for
