Senior UX Designer - Consultant

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates in Texas, near Lubbock)

Position Type: Contract, Part-Time (20 hours per week)

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer - Consultant with extensive experience in website design, content strategy, and public sector environments. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assess our website, identify areas for streamlining and improvement, meet with various departments, and create a cohesive, user-friendly layout. This role is part-time, contract-based, and remote, with a preference for candidates in Texas, ideally near Lubbock.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze the current website structure and content.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify and collect information for content organization.
• Redesign and streamline web pages to enhance user experience and efficiency.
• Develop a clear estimate of hours required for the project completion.
• Rewrite or reorganize existing content to align with the new design strategy.
• Provide consultation and recommendations tailored to CivicPlus or similar public sector platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design or related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a UX Designer or Web Content Strategist.
• Strong expertise in website content strategy and user experience design.
• Proficiency with CivicPlus or experience in public sector environments is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• A well-developed UX portfolio demonstrating past projects and accomplishments.
• Must pass a satisfactory standard criminal background check upon hire.
