Senior Product Designer (Concept & Innovation)

Location: Atlanta, GA (Primarily remote; local candidates preferred for occasional onsite meetings)

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a small, highly collaborative innovation team responsible for solving complex business challenges through design thinking, research, and rapid prototyping.

This is not a traditional product design role focused on production-ready UI. Instead, you'll receive high-level business problem statements—often with no predefined solution—and partner with stakeholders to research opportunities, conceptualize multiple approaches, and create compelling prototypes that help shape future product initiatives.

You'll work alongside Product, UX Research, and business leaders to explore "what could be" rather than "what already exists." Your concepts will help influence the product roadmap and future investments, with many of the ideas targeted for implementation in future releases.

What You'll Do

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand ambiguous business challenges and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Translate high-level problem statements into multiple conceptual product solutions.
• Conduct user research and discovery to better understand customer needs, workflows, and pain points.
• Utilize user insights and analytics to inform design decisions and validate concepts.
• Create user journeys, wireframes, storyboards, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes using Figma.
• Rapidly iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback and research findings.
• Present concepts and prototypes to business leaders to communicate vision and influence decision-making.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Researchers, and Engineering throughout the discovery process.
• Facilitate design thinking and ideation sessions to explore multiple solution paths.
• Balance business objectives, customer needs, and technical feasibility while remaining focused on the user experience.
• Your primary responsibility is helping the business envision and validate the best solution. Engineering teams will ultimately determine how approved concepts are implemented.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Product Design, UX Design, or Digital Product Design experience.
• Demonstrated success solving ambiguous business problems through research and conceptual design.
• Advanced expertise with Figma, including interactive prototyping.
• Strong visual design skills with an eye for modern, intuitive user experiences.
• Experience conducting user research and synthesizing findings into actionable design recommendations.
• Experience using user analytics and behavioral insights to influence design decisions.
• Ability to communicate design rationale and present concepts to executive and business stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills with Product Managers, Researchers, and Engineering teams.
• Excellent storytelling and presentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing consumer-facing (B2C) digital products.
• Background in innovation, product discovery, or concept design.
• Experience facilitating workshops, brainstorming sessions, or design thinking exercises.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA4, FullStory, or similar tools.
• Experience working in Agile product environments.
