About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on AI Engineering Lead to drive the adoption of agentic AI and AI-first development practices across the engineering team. This is a high-impact role within a small, growing team, where you will lead by example through hands-on software engineering, AI workflow design, and technical leadership. You will play a key role in modernising existing products into scalable, cloud-based SaaS solutions, improving how software is built through AI-driven development, and uplifting team capability through practical implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic AI development workflows
• Establish AI-first SDLC practices to improve speed, quality, and consistency
• Drive adoption of tools such as Copilot, LLM APIs, and automation frameworks
• Contribute hands-on to coding, architecture, and system design
• Lead development of new features and SaaS modules
• Support the modernisation of legacy systems
• Mentor developers through hands-on collaboration and guidance
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and engineering direction

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience across backend and/or full-stack development
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a practical environment
• Exposure to or experience building agentic workflows or AI-driven systems
• Familiarity with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Azure OpenAI
• Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Azure
• Ability to operate effectively in a small, high-ownership team

• REST APIs and microservices
• SQL Server
• Modern frontend frameworks such as Angular
