Digital Designer

We are recruiting for a Product Designer to join our team in a remote, contract role. Digital Product Designers work with one or more product portfolios and generally in pairs with a senior product designer, reporting to the Director, Digital Product Design. This role is focused on Customer Onboarding and Account Management for Proof, our e-commerce platform, and National Call Center. Within a portfolio, a product designer has the responsibility to:

Responsibilities:

Ideate and develop design concepts:

• Understand the product’s users and their needs and buying habits
• Lead problem-framing & ideation sessions
• Lead design concepting and storyboarding to map out ideas
• Create design hypotheses and explore divergent ideas and potential solutions

Prototype and iterate:

• Create user flows, storyboards, high quality wireframes, low and high-fidelity design prototypes
• Collaborate with design researchers to continuously learn & iterate design work

Present design work:

• Support design reviews with executive-level colleagues by creating prototypes and presentations
• Provide solid rationale for design decisions
• Make compelling and persuasive presentation of ideas, concepts, and in-progress design work

Ensure design coherence and use the design system:

• Improve the quality of our digital experiences by using the design system and consistent interaction design patterns

Collaborate with product development:

• Appropriately inclusive of software development in the design process
• Collaborate with other designers, software engineering, analytics, and QA teammates to bring ideas to life and products to market

Requirements:

• 4+ years of digital product design experience, mobile app design, web design, and design systems
• 2+ years of experience designing enterprise-level e-commerce applications (web and/or native app)
• Experience with design & prototyping tools including Figma
• Portfolio inclusive of digital project work showing end-to-end experience: from ideation to launch
• Familiarity with the full digital product lifecycle, using product roadmaps, story mapping, writing design stories, designing features, direct collaboration with development teams
• Responsive design best practices
• Ability to generate, visualize and prototype new concepts to demonstrate and test with users and stakeholders
• Aticulate about digital product design as a practice, and supportive of agility in design processes
• Experience with design thinking methodology in practice, with portfolio examples
• Experience as a designer in an agile business environment, with portfolio examples
• Experience using global design systems, with portfolio examples
• Design research methods & tools (Ethnography, User Testing, Accessibility Compliance, Moderation)
• Common UI technology (HTML, CSS, Material Design)
• Common mobile app frameworks (Flutter, FlutterFlow, React Native, PWA)
• UCD certifications
• Agile training or certifications, like SAFe Agilist
