Senior Product Designer (UX) - Hybrid Denver, CO

GridX believes that best-in-class design is key to accelerating the utility rates revolution, providing analytics software to utilities and their customers that support demand response, electrification and cleantech goals. The GridX design team is looking for a Senior Product Designer who can support the product development lifecycle through discovery, design & delivery phases. The designer will report to the Director of Design and partner with product designers & developers to bring concepts and solutions to life for users and customers, as well as sales, marketing, and partner audiences.

Role & Responsibilities

• Support product discovery by gathering requirements, interviewing customers and users, talking with stakeholders and SMEs, and conducting user research.
• Contribute to and refine a library of personas, use cases and journeys.
• Design usable and elegant product solutions for complex problems and large data sets.
• Create dev-ready UI comps in Figma using a component library.
• Document design concepts with written descriptions, mockups, prototypes and videos for internal and external audiences.
• Socialize design concepts with sales, marketing and partner audiences by creating and sharing slides, videos and other storytelling materials.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant product design experience
• Portfolio with examples of relevant work experience
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to facilitate design thinking exercises–digitally and in person
• Demonstrable experience designing and building complex, scalable software
• Formal design training in Human-Centered Design, User Experience, or Product Design
• Ability to work across time zones and with offshore teams in a dynamic start-up setting

Your Location

Because much of the team is based in Denver, CO, it is preferred that the selected candidate be located in the Denver area but it is not required. The role will include occasional work at a GridX co-working offices or attendance at offsites and/or customer sites, as determined by your role’s responsibilities and agreed to with your manager.

Compensation

Compensation is based on your specific location, and, for this position, may range from $125,000 to $155,000/year base salary + benefits/perks. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on skill set, qualifications, experience and location.
