Grey Parrot Systems (GPARROT) is hiring a Lead Figma Developer with deep expertise in design systems, component libraries, advanced prototyping, and AI-assisted design workflows to lead UI/UX design engineering across our US client engagements.
About Grey Parrot Systems
Grey Parrot Systems (GPARROT) is a women-owned, BEP-certified IT services firm headquartered in Naperville, IL. We partner with mid-market enterprises to deliver AI-first, governance-driven digital transformation. Our team of seasoned CIO/CTO practitioners works side-by-side with clients across retail, logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare — and we're growing.
About the Role
This is a lead-level Figma development role for a design systems expert who has built and governed enterprise-grade Figma component libraries, led design-to-development handoffs, and used AI design tools to prototype and deliver at speed. You are not just a designer who uses Figma — you are a Figma power user who thinks in components, variables, and design tokens, and who bridges the gap between design and engineering with precision and authority. If you have 8+ years of Figma and UI/UX design experience and have led design systems at enterprise scale — we want to hear from you.
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years of UI/UX design experience with expert-level Figma proficiency
- Deep expertise in Figma design systems — component libraries, variants, auto layout, design tokens, and variables
- Advanced Figma prototyping — interactive prototypes, micro-interactions, and complex user flow simulations
- Experience building and governing enterprise-scale Figma component libraries and design systems from scratch
- Strong understanding of design-to-development handoff — Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, or similar — ensuring developer-ready specs
- Experience collaborating closely with front-end engineers on React, Angular, or Vue component implementation
- Hands-on use of AI design tools — v0, Galileo AI, Figma AI, Uizard, or similar — to accelerate design workflows
- Strong understanding of UX principles — user research, usability testing, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and information architecture
- Comfortable working US-aligned hours for overlap with client and delivery teams
- Strong written and oral English communication skills — able to present design decisions to US client stakeholders
What You'll Do
- Own and lead Figma design system architecture — building, governing, and scaling enterprise-grade component libraries, design tokens, and style guides across client engagements
- Design and deliver high-fidelity UI mockups, interactive prototypes, and user flows for web and mobile applications
- Establish and enforce Figma component standards, naming conventions, versioning practices, and design governance frameworks
- Lead design-to-development handoffs — working closely with front-end engineers to ensure pixel-perfect, accessible implementation
- Use AI design tools daily — v0, Figma AI, Galileo AI, Uizard — to rapidly generate, iterate, and refine design concepts and components
- Collaborate with product owners, UX researchers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into polished, user-centered design solutions
- Design AI-powered interfaces — chatbots, dashboards, agentic workflows, and data visualizations — for AI-first client products
- Define and maintain Figma workspace organization — project structure, team libraries, shared components, and design asset governance
- Mentor and guide junior Figma designers on design system best practices, component architecture, and AI-assisted design workflows
- Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging Figma features and AI design tools to keep GPARROT's design practice at the cutting edge

- Experience with motion design and micro-interaction design tools — Principle, Framer, or Lottie
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design practices
- Experience in retail, healthcare, logistics, or enterprise SaaS design environments
- Portfolio featuring enterprise-scale design system work
