Role Overview

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to bridge engineering, architecture, and customer/product needs. This role focuses on designing scalable solutions, supporting complex integrations, and improving system performance across distributed SaaS platforms. The ideal candidate has strong backend experience, cloud exposure, and the ability to influence technical direction while staying hands-on.

Must Have

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend service development
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and Distributed Systems fundamentals
• Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred or similar like GCP/Azure)
• Exposure to system scalability, performance tuning, or reliability improvements
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience as a Senior Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Backend Engineer
• Exposure to React.js or modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with SaaS or B2B products
• Basic knowledge of system observability (logging, monitoring, debugging tools)
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success)
• Familiarity with design patterns and clean architecture principles

Nice to Have

• Experience in Fintech, payments, or business platforms
• Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS systems
• Knowledge of Redis or caching strategies
• Experience in fast-growing startups or product-led companies
• Understanding of security best practices in web applications

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions and APIs
• Work on system integrations across services and platforms
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on technical solutions
• Support architecture decisions for evolving systems
• Contribute to CI/CD, testing, and deployment improvements
• Help troubleshoot production issues and improve observability
• Advocate for engineering best practices and maintainable code
